FIRST AVENUE & 7TH STREET ENTRY: An Inventory of Its Band Files at the Minnesota Historical Society:
The band files provide a chronological record of performances at the popular music club during its first 23 years, and offer a representative glimpse of the alternative and indie rock acts popular in the U.S. during that period.

Wow. I have so many memories of going to shows here. Looking through the entries on this list from around 1992-1996 reminds me of getting the old calendar’s First Ave would put out every month… So awesome that somebody kept track of all this info and I’d love to see what photos they have. Thanks for posting Janey (@winnerbowser)!

Action Flick Chick - » New from AMC: The Walking Dead Webisodes!:

Sounds interesting (h/t Nate):

The webisodes will give fans the opportunity to explore the back story of Hannah (Lilli Birdsell), better known as “Bicycle Girl,” the infamous zombie from season one, who was shot by Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) in the pilot episode and who is one of the most celebrated “walkers” from last season. Fans will learn about Hannah’s life before the apocalypse, her struggle to survive and protect her family as the world begins to fall apart, and her ultimate demise into zombie-hood.

Excited for this to start up again.

“To me, the cable box seems like Tower Records 10 years ago, or Borders just 2 years ago. Look at how music and books have shifted to digital, on-demand purchasing. Cable companies are the “brick and mortar” place for video, and that business is dying. People don’t have enough time for 140 channels, they have enough time for maybe 10 shows, that’s it. Why pay 140 bux a month to watch that many shows when you can buy them individually? Or stream The Wire on Netflix for 8 bux a month, because you missed it the first time? Or play a video game? Or just surf the net?” - Felicia Day - Google - Started a big discussion on Twitter about this article on… in response to Fox Starts Its Web Pullback, and ABC Gets Ready to Follow

Really interesting graph on what people think should be done about the current debt crises. Surprisingly (or not) there seems to be a pretty clear majority opinion. Add yours! (via NYTimes.com)

Google finally announces its social service: Google+ (Android app included) – Android and Me:
Completely out of the blue, Google has announced its long-rumored Google+ service. At first look, Google+ shows a lot promise. It might even prove Google does understand (gasp!) social–and even UI/UX–design.

So… Will anybody I know be using this? I probably will be.

Madison's Bongo Video, hit hard by our changing digital culture, will close its doors:

Damn, we were just there tonight. I talked with the guy behind the counter about the music video collections they were playing (collections of specific director’s videos). I never knew these collections existed.

The staff there knew our girls to the point they’d ask about when we came in without one of the girls. They knew what kind of movies to suggest for the girls…

Ahh well, welcome to the digital age I guess…
