The Slacker Returns

Sorry it has been a while since my last post. I know yall like Jane Austen, but probably not THAT much. We have been pretty busy over the past week or so. We went to MN for the fabulous Ethiopian Kids Community get-together. The organizers did an amazing job and there were 500ish people in attendance. However, I learned that I still kind of stink at mingling and making small talk, so while I saw a lot of familiar faces (forum friends), I didnt get a chance to talk to a lot of them and most of those I did speak with it was for about 43 seconds. Sorry friends. I am not a snob, I swear. We did spend lots of time with the P family which was awesome. Jeremiah and I brought both our video camera and our digital camera, but they both stayed in their cases for the entire five day trip to MN. No joke. Fortunately, my forum friend Tracy is not such a slacker and she did take a few pictures of us. We went to dinner with Tracy, her husband Jeff, their daughter Shahra, and Tracys parents on Friday. J and I really enjoyed hanging out with them and hope we stay in touch. Tracy gave me permission to post a few pics on our website. You can see that the girls got along great

Heres a good one of all of us, including me with my new hair:

More Pics of Aurelia

Ali sent some great pics of Aurelia yesterday, a few of them from the Ethiopian Adoption picnic we went to in Minnesota on 7/27. There are some really good ones, you can find the pics here: aurelia pics here. It's hard to tell, but in the picture to the left, and in the picture with my dad, she is "bouncing". Aurelia loves to bounce: she does this kind of jumping thing while you hold her. When we went over to Ali's and Justin's house to visit on the way out of town we got to see Aurelia in her jumper. It's one of those seats that hangs from the ceiling and lets the baby jump around; Aurelia loves it. It was amazing to see the level of control she had over which way she wanted to face... you can tell she's going to be a speed demon when she learns how to crawl and/or walk. She's got some really strong legs on her :)

Ma and Dad

Ma and Dad at Jenny and JD's wedding... It was a beautiful wedding and the reception afterwards was really nice. The reception was at Buckhill just outside the cities; seemed like an awesome place to have a reception. The food was awesome...
