My Actuarial Study Aid

I was studying for my actuarial exams tonight when Romeo decided to see what I was up to...

Romeo or the Homeowner's Insurance Policy?

Curiosity turned to annoyance at being ignored... Of course, destruction of my study materials would get my attention right?

Damage caused by owned animals isn't covered?!?

When destruction alone won't do, drastic measures are required...

These books aren't nearly as interesting as I am...

I need a study break...

CAS Exams

If you're wondering what's up with these exams I take, you can learn more about being an actuary at these sites:

whenever I see that first url I realize what a bean counter I've become ;P I've passed exams 1 through 5 so far out of a total of 9 exams. These exams are offered only once a year: Exam 6 in November and Exam 7 in April or May.

Links With More Information:

  • The Infinite Actuary - I've taken their live seminars with Ken Fikes in the past and I really can't say enough good things about them. If you are looking to take a seminar and are considering which to take, I highly suggest Ken's.
  • Midwestern Actuarial Forum
  • Actuarial Outpost - good online actuarial community... their forum is very active.

Linked to below is a reference taken from Exam 4, which was in turn taken from Appendices A & B of Loss Models: From Data to Decisions by Klugman, Panjer and Willmot. I hate always trying to find a link to this...
